Penrose Mattress Co. 10-Year Limited Warranty

Penrose Mattress Co. warrants the Penrose American Hybrid Mattress to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of original purchase, subject to the terms below.

This warranty is separate from our 99-night home trial. The trial is your opportunity to decide whether the mattress is right for you. This warranty covers manufacturing defects that appear over time.

Who is covered

This warranty extends only to the original purchaser and applies only to mattresses purchased new directly from Penrose Mattress Co. or an authorized retailer. It is non-transferable and does not apply to mattresses that have been resold, purchased second-hand, or acquired as floor models or "as-is" merchandise.

What is covered

  • Visible indentations or body impressions in the sleeping surface greater than 1 inch, measured with the mattress unoccupied, free of bedding, and on a proper support system
  • Physical flaws in the foam layers that cause the material to split, crack, or crumble, despite normal use and proper handling
  • Defects in the pocket-coil unit, including broken, loose, or protruding coils
  • Manufacturing defects in the mattress cover, including seam separation, zipper failure, or stitching defects, for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase

What is not covered

  • Normal increases in softness of the foam that do not affect the pressure-relieving qualities of the mattress
  • Comfort preference, including a change in your preferred firmness over time
  • Indentations or impressions measuring less than 1 inch
  • Damage caused by abuse, misuse, neglect, accident, or unreasonable use, including standing or jumping on the mattress
  • Damage caused by an inadequate or improper support system
  • Burns, cuts, tears, liquid damage, stains, or soiling of any kind
  • Odor, normal wear, or changes in appearance
  • Mattresses with the law tag removed
  • Mattresses used in a commercial or institutional setting, including rental, hospitality, or short-term lodging use
  • Any mattress not purchased new from Penrose Mattress Co. or an authorized retailer

Proper support required

Your mattress must be used on a firm, flat, structurally sound support system at all times. Acceptable support includes a platform bed, a box spring or foundation in good condition, bed slats spaced no more than 3 inches apart, or an adjustable base. An empty metal frame without cross slats is not adequate support. Damage resulting from inadequate support is not covered.

Soiled or unsanitary mattresses

Mattresses that are stained, soiled, or in an unsanitary condition will not be accepted for warranty inspection or replacement, regardless of the nature of the defect. We strongly recommend using a mattress protector. Applicable law prohibits the handling and transport of soiled bedding.

Warranty remedy

If a covered defect is confirmed, Penrose Mattress Co. will, at its sole option, repair the mattress or replace it with a comparable mattress of equal or greater value. If your original model is no longer available, we will substitute a comparable current model.

  • Years 1 through 5: Repair or replacement is provided at no charge, including transportation.
  • Years 6 through 10: Repair or replacement is provided on a prorated basis. You are responsible for a portion of the original purchase price equal to 10% for each year of ownership beyond year five, plus all transportation costs to and from our facility.

Repair or replacement does not extend or restart the original warranty period.

How to make a claim

Email hello@penrosemattress.com or call 888-903-8673 with:

  1. Your order number or proof of purchase
  2. A photograph of the mattress law tag
  3. Photographs clearly showing the defect
  4. For impression claims, a photograph showing the depth of the impression measured with a straightedge laid flat across the mattress, with the mattress unoccupied and stripped of all bedding

We may request additional photographs or an in-home inspection before approving a claim. Do not return a mattress without prior written authorization.

Limitations

This is the only warranty provided by Penrose Mattress Co. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the term of this written warranty. Penrose Mattress Co. shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages arising from the purchase or use of the mattress.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
